GIS Verification Programme

The Mains Exception Report (MER) Programme aims to resolve conflicts in location and attributes of mains and services found onsite during site works.

MERs are investigated in a Staged approach where a desktop investigation is conducted of all available information and inputted into a Risk Based Assessment (RBA). Based on the RBA results the MER is either resolved or investigated further.

Further investigation can take the form of stakeholder meetings, site surveys, senior engineer input and/or invasive site works, such as trial holes and/or camera insertions. Once a resolution is found, the findings are data captured into the client’s Geographic Information System (GIS).
