Energy Efficiency Feasibility Study

Areas of work: Energy Audits & decarbonisation plans

Description

We carried out energy efficiency feasibility studies for bus depots that aimed to identify practical energy-saving measures and to support the client’s targets for carbon emission reductions. We optimised lighting layouts in key operational areas with A lighting audit was conducted using DiaLUX simulation software.

The financial appraisal included simple payback and life cycle cost analysis to evaluate identified opportunities. Capex-free initiatives such as operational improvements and Building Management System (BMS) optimisation were prioritised. Recommendations included the integration of automation systems to improve HVAC and lighting controls, alongside renewable energy solutions such as solar PV and heat recovery systems.

Project Elements:

  • Site surveys
  • Bill analysis & heat load modelling
  • U-value calculations & ventilation assessments
  • Heating & DHW system inspections & service record reviews
  • Dynamic simulation modelling/DiaLUX software
  • Assessment of renewable energy integration
